Being right next to the Grand Canyon is a dream for many, but you can spend a few days in this RV Park and explore the area or simply relax. Grand Canyon Railway RV Park is in Williams and close to the historic train ride to the Canyon so you can have a break from the roadways. It's also near enough to several spectacular natural wonders to really appreciate the outdoors.
02 Fair Harbor RV Park and Campground, Georgia
Fair Harbor is a good place to escape the city and enjoy the peace of a more rural area. There's swimming and fishing at a private lake and horse riding nearby. It's central to the Georgia Peach Festival each June and the Cherry Blossom celebrations in Perry during springtime.
03 Horse Thief Lake Campground, South Dakota
Located in the Black Hills, Horse Thief Lake RV park is a back-to-basics campground in South Dakota for a back-to-nature experience so you can chill out in a peaceful location. From here, you can climb up Crazy Horse Mountain for the scenery or watch herds of buffalo in Custer State Park.
04 Meteor Crater RV Park, Arizona
Meteor Park is interesting because its located at the site of a meteor crash, where you can walk around the crater and see the unique structure. A lot of businesses have built up around the site, so you'll find lots of unique facilities. It's on Route 66 and makes a good stopping off point for that classic journey.
05 Gulf State Park Campground, Gulf Shores, Alabama
This campground is right on the 25-mile Hugh Branyon Backcountry Trail, and you can also get guided walks from the park naturalists or chill out by the lake. And, it's under 2 miles to a beautiful sandy beach with good ocean swimming.
06 Stone Mountain State Park Campground, Georgia
Stone Mountain has lots of activities, from riding a railroad to enjoying a laser night show and talking the Scenic Skyride. There are hiking trails here and lots of outdoor activities. You are guaranteed to love the views of Stone Mountain from your pitch.
07 Amana RV Park and Event Center, Amana, Iowa
Amana RV Park is in the center of seven heritage villages once inhabited by German immigrants. You'll find traditional German food and restaurants, historic buildings, shops, and wineries in the area. This is a great camp if you like a cultural setting.
08 Green River Lake State Park, Campbellsville, Kentucky
If you like water activities, you'll love hooking up at Green River Lake State Park. There's a marina, boat rentals, fishing, and a restaurant. You'll also find 28 miles of hiking trails, a beach, and a mini-golf course. It's also close to Churchill Downs, where the Kentucky Derby takes place each year, so a great place to stay if you like horse racing.
09 Schoodic Woods Campground, Maine
Schoodic Wood is open from May through October and has some basic facilities. It is close to the Acadia National Park, and the site is not as crowded as other areas. You'll love it for the scenery and that back-to-basics atmosphere. The wooded areas are beautiful.
10 Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park, Mandan, North Dakota
At Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park, you can actually park right by the site where Lt. Col. Custer and the Seventh Cavalry left for their expedition at Little Big Horn. You can hike trails and enjoy the wooded area around the campsite and enjoy the views of the Missouri River while relaxing in this beautiful and historic location.
11 Pagosa Springs RV Park, Colorado
If you enjoy stargazing, then Pagosa Springs RV Park is the campground for you. There's an open-air movie theater and lots of water facilities at this site on the San Juan River. The wooded areas will make you feel as though you are immersed in nature, and you'll enjoy the natural hot spring pools at this site.
12 Little Bear RV Park, California
Little Bear RV Park is open from May through October and is near Tahoe National Forest. You'll find Eureka State Park, Plumas National Forest, and Lassen National Forest within easy reach of the campground. The site has access to several hiking trails, swimming, and tubing so you can make the most of the outdoors.
13 Button Bay State Park, Ferrisburgh, Vermont
When you stay at Button Bay State Park, you are right next to Lake Champlain, with spectacular views of the Adirondack Mountains. The campground is also close to the Shelburne Museum and Lake Champlain Maritime Museum. With hiking trails and cultural highlights close by, this RV park will give you lots of leisure options.
14 Rawlins KOA, Rawlins, Wyoming
Naturally, a campground in Rawlins, Wyoming, is geared up for outdoor types. There is hunting, fishing, and hiking close by with many good trails. The campground is famed for its covered camper kitchen with stoves, picnic tables, and sinks. You'll get to enjoy the magnificent Wyoming landscape here, spot wildlife, and really get back to nature.
15 Scenic Hills RV Park, Ohio
One of the big attractions of this RV park in Millersburg is it is right in the middle of Amish Country, so you'll enjoy a fascinating cultural experience by spending time here. There are lots of farms close by where you can get fresh produce and explore the beautiful countryside. It's also a peaceful location with some good walking trails in the surrounding countryside and Amish communities.
